The 2021 NOSE symposium

From Aroma to Anosmia

Although the human sense of smell has been underestimated and neglected for a long time, recent insights demonstrate this is not true. In particular, the recent COVID-19 pandemic shows us the importance of olfaction, and also what can be lost.

Please join us for the 2021 NOSE symposium, including excellent national and international speakers, where we will highlight and discuss the main functions of the human sense of smell (according to Stevenson 2010 in Chemical Senses): as part of flavor perception for ingestive behavior; avoidance or warning of environmental hazards; and social communication. In addition, we will focus on smell loss, its impact on patients, and the potential causal mechanisms in COVID-19.

The NOSE symposium will take place on February 25th, 2021, 14.00-17.00 CET, via Zoom. Please visit our Registration page to register by clicking here. Note that there is a limit to the amount of participants we can host.

I’d like to register to the symposium. I cannot find any instruction about registration procedure in the website. What should I do? Thanks. Max

Good morning, will the symposium that took place yesterday also be published somewhere online so that we can still view it? I would therefore like to share it as a news item via our website so that visitors to our website (many researchers in the field of smell and taste worldwide) can also view the presentations. I’d love to hear it, thanks in advance!

Kind regards, Raymond Tel (Sense Trading / MediSense)
