NOSE member Jasper de Groot receives APS Rising Star award

NOSE member Jasper de Groot has been selected by the Association for Psychological Science (APS) to receive the APS Rising Star designation.

The accompanying award letter stated: “The Rising Star designation recognizes outstanding psychological scientists in the earliest stages of their post-PhD research careers. As an APS Rising Star, you are among the brightest minds in our field, setting an impressively high standard for the designation in years to come.”

Jasper owes thanks to many of his collaborators and his former PhD supervisors, NOSE member Monique Smeets and Gün Semin. He hopes this award will reflect positively on the broader field of smell research and sees it as a sign of increasing appreciation for this initially undervalued sense.
