Elbrich Postma

Elbrich Postma is a postdoctoral researcher at the Division of Human Nutrition and Health at Wageningen University, Wageningen. Additionally, she is appointed at the only Smell and Taste Center in the Netherlands in Hospital Gelderse Vallei in Ede.

Her research focusses on the effects of changes in smell and taste ability on eating behavior and the brain. She investigates this in several patient populations, including Covid-19 patients. Her research includes MRI and EEG studies, using an olfactometer to deliver olfactory stimuli to patients during the measurements. In these studies she investigates structure as well as function of the brain in patients with smell loss. The results of these studie are applied in the clinic to improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients with smell loss.
