Aromas in Products: Sensory Delight or Sensory Overload?
Consumer products are increasingly fragranced – now you can even buy paper hanky’s with pine scent! In de Volkskrant (January 21) Wilma de Rek and Monique Smeets reflect on how society seems to have become less tolerant of bad or undesirable environmental odours. Consumer have come to love and desire the fragrances that go into their products to keep bad smells at bay and many find it delightful. The trend is unlikely to stop anytime soon.
