Raw Materials: olfactory art exhibition by Claudia de Vos
In the interactive exposition Raw Materials, Claudia de Vos introduces you to her art installations in which she uses a wide range of techniques, including ceramics, drawings, fotography, different fabrics and found objects. All artworks have olfaction as the connecting element, in particular natural scents (Raw Materials). With her art, Claudia de Vos studies the effects smells have on people: scent in historic or cultural context, as individual or universal experience. Healing, imaginative, narrative, connecting and stimulating in nature, the artworks incite to remember, think and talk.
In this exhibition, you can smell each work of art, and write down any thoughts and ideas that the smells provoke: what are your memories for each of the smelled odors?

In de expositie Raw materials laat Claudia De Vos u kennismaken met haar kunstwerken en installaties waarbij zij gebruik maakt van uiteenlopende materialen zoals keramiek, tekeningen, fotografie, stoffen en gevonden voorwerpen. De kunstwerken hebben geur als verbindend element en wel in het bijzonder natuurlijke geuren (raw materials). Met haar kunst onderzoekt Claudia De Vos de psychologische effecten van geuren. Geur in historische of culturele context, als individuele of universele geurbeleving. Helend, verbeeldend, verhalend, verbindend en prikkelend van aard zetten zij aan tot herinneren, denken en praten. De expositie ‘Raw materials’ geeft stroming in vastgelopen conversaties, denktrands en brengt verborgen herinneringen aan het licht.
De expositie is interactief: u kunt aan de kunstwerken ruiken. Op een speciale ‘out of the box’ kunt u uw eigen verhaal kwijt: wat zijn úw herinneringen bij de geroken geuren?
